2002 Running Awards

Sydney Striders' 2002 Annual Awards

The club's annual Awards brunch at Middle Harbour Yacht Club on 15th December 2001 was again the venue for presentation of trophies and awards. A full house enjoyed brunch after the Christmas STaR and before the awards.

Changes this year has seen the awards presented split between the end of year Awards Brunch and the Striders Annual Dinner that will be held in March 2003. This change has come about due to the fact that Striders are a notoriously slow lot when it comes to advising the Committee of their Personal Bests and other results that have occured during the previous year. This has resulted in a few awards, such as best marathon or most improved, being handed to one Strider based on the results the Committee had hand at the time, and then finding out at membership renewal time that there were indeed stellar performances that someone had forgotten to mention.... So, awards that are based on the entire year have been held over until March.

Congratulations to all those who received awards for their achievements during 2002.
