This welcome is extended to guests who are not yet members -
feel free to try a few runs with the 7am group first to see if you like it. OR maybe you are a running
tourist on vacation in Sydney, and looking for a good workout - either way - feel
free to join us for a memorable run!
The club runs are early on Sunday mornings (except when a major event such as City to Surf or Sydney Marathon is on) almost every
week on one of about 35 different courses. Just to make it very clear, it is a different location each week - check the
calendar for this week's location. The run
ends with an open-air breakfast of fruit, cakes and other snacks - and of course plenty
of ice cold drinks to recover from a good run ! (All this costs only $4). The
start and finish of each run is always at the same location, although as you
can see we roam from place to place each week. In this way each course gets used about twice a year.
We run from 10 to 30km at a wide variety of paces over a variety of terrains - truly something for everyone.
What better way to see Sydney's sights, meet lots of different people and most of all TO GET FIT.
Important Note on the Start Times & Paces:
Every Sunday there are distance options between 15 & 30km -
groups run TOGETHER according to their target pace, starting at:
- 6am (6:00 min/km or slower),
- 6:10am (5:30 min/km),
- 6:20am (5:00 min/km) and
- 6:30am (4:30 min/km)
A 10-15km group leaves at 7am (6:00 min/km).
Expect at least 50 people every week (depending on races / holidays).
To assist Striders in determining which group would be appropriate for them we have
developed a suggested STaR pace table.
The Saturday 10km races have one start for everyone (it is a race) at 7am.
