Lane Cove Course Description

Situated in the beautiful Lane Cove National Park, the Lane Cove 10k race is an out and back course that follows River Drive between the southern and northern entrances of the park with a short out and back leg along Plassey Road to Scribbly Gums Picnic Area. The course is traffic free on a good bitumen surface, through shaded bushland and is quite hilly. Each kilometre is marked with a cone and there is a water station at the turn around point.

MEETING AREA

Registration and meeting area is in Lane Cove Park at the Koonjeree Picnic Area close to the Delhi Road entrance. Parking is in River Avenue opposite the park entrance or in Lady Game Drive.

START

The race starts at 7.00 am with a time limit of 60 minutes. There is an early start option from 6.30 am. The start line is on Riverside Drive at the stone cairn near the Lane Cove River weir.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course follows Riverside Drive for two kilometres before turning left at Plassey Road to Scribbly Gums Picnic Area. Runners turn around at the marker cone and return to Riverside Drive where they turn left and follow Riverside Drive to the turn around point inside the northern entrance gate on Ryde Road. Runners return along Riverside Drive to where they started without the detour to Scribbly Gums. The finish line is at the rangers hut.
